Hi Lew and Karen,
I just wanted to thank you for finding Shammy for me! He’s the most adorable little guy - just full of love. I knew I was hurting, going without a dog for so long but this little guy just takes that hurt away and brings me back to my old self. While he’s not my typical dog (I’ve had mostly Alphas that kept me on my toes), he just loves to be in the company of others and will grab his toys after going outside to keep the play alive for just that much more. He’s just a love...and a bed hog. Who would think that an 18 lbs. dog pushes me to the edges of the bed? LOL
Thanks again for bringing a dog back into my life.

SHE’S DA BELLA DA BALL

This is Bella, a wonderful angel rescued by Lew and Karen 5 years ago. We don’t know much about her background other than she was left at the pound and not in good shape. She was scheduled to be put down because she failed the food aggression test (she is so not food aggressive). She loves everyone and everyone loves her. We can’t thank you enough. Maggie

EDDIE MONEY - HE’S GOT TWO TICKETS TO PARADISE

Hi Lew and Karen.
Well ..it has been over a week since Eddie Money joined our family and we could not love him more bc our hearts are so full. He is so adorable and even has a white heart on his forehead and eyebrows!!! He went from a scared little stray, to finding his voice and being part of our pack. The dogs play all day long, and when they’re not playing they are snuggling with one of us or sleeping it off! Eddie fell right into our routine and we think he might even be the pack leader… he loves his brothers Hooch and Fuzzy!! He has definitely found his voice, and loves his walks, tug-of-war, and will do almost anything for a treat!!! He is still not 100% sure about the cat, but he continues to try to make friends.
Thank you so much for bringing Eddie into our lives. He is perfect for us… And while we miss our last little Silver Lake rescue boy… We know he had a great 6 years with us and is over the bridge just waiting for us and watching us! Thanks for helping me learn I can’t rescue them all - this boy was meant to be part of our family — no doubt!!

MISS MOLLY SITTIN’ BY THE DOCK OF THE BAY

Hi Lew and Karen.
It’s been almost three weeks since you brought Molly to us and I wanted to give you an update. We are all adjusting nicely. Molly has become the diva of the neighborhood. Everyone loves her. We walk 2-3 times a day. Her favorite thing is to sit on the bench at the bay and watch the boats and the seagulls and the kids play. And of course look cute and get a lot of attention. You made the adoption process go smoothly. Molly was up to date on her shots and microchipped. Not to mention all her supplies and necessities you gave us. It’s obvious how much you care about your foster “babies”.
Thanks again for everything. You may have saved Molly but she saved us. We love her unconditionally.

Dear Lew,
When I got Bailey, he changed my life! I love him. When my friends are gone, I have Bailey to play with. Bailey is sitting right next to me now. He sleeps with me too. It was so boring without him, but since he is here now I can play with him all day.
When you get a dog at a shelter you are saving him. You can also save a cat. So......you should go to a shelter and save an animal.
I would not have Bailey without Mr. Zagnit and the help from my friend, Helene and from my family.
SO NOW GO TO A SHELTER AND SAVE A DOG OR CAT LIKE I DID. I AM SO GLAD I DID.

COCO’S BEEN ADOPTED AND SHE’S LEAPING FOR JOY

Karen and Lew’s main goal is to rehabilitate animals and place them in the correct home. Well, they did a phenomenal job with Coco. Coco is almost 1 1/2 years old and is underweight. Lew made sure he gave me everything I could possibly need to keep Coco happy and healthy. Coco is a purebred poodle and should weigh about 15lbs. At the moment she weighs in at a scrappy 11.5lbs. My main reason for getting a second dog was to give my 1 1/2 year old cockapoo Ellie a playmate. Well, mission accomplished! Coco and Ellie chase each other, wrestle and then fall over in exhaustion. They truly love each other and they've only been together a little over a week.
I must also mention how smart Coco is! She learned to use the doggie door in one day, which is unheard of! She is my fourth dog to use that door and usually it takes 5 to 7 days to master. Coco ran in and out of the doggie like a pro in just one day. She really enjoys being outside so she's thrilled to be able to be out doors whenever she wants. Coco is also very quick to learn commands. She learned to sit in about 6 hours. We are now working on come and stay. When she has these basic commands down, I will be able to enroll her in an adult beginner training class.
I cannot thank Lew and Karen enough. They made the adoption process easy. They also let me know that they are there for me if I should run into any problems. They are good people doing good work!
